Our lab was pleased to host a visit from 2010 Nobel Laureate Professor Sir Konstantin Novoselov. Prof. Novoselov was awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics for his pioneering work on graphene, a key component in our lab’s research. We were very proud to share our work with him.
The members of Yamashita-Set Lab visited the offices of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation on the 24th of October. Thank you for hosting us!
Lab members attended and presented their work at the 84th Autumn meeting of the Japan Society of Applied Physics in Komamoto on September 19 – 23.
Congratulations to doctoral student Bowen Liu, whose excellent work has been recognised at Optoelectronics Global Conference 2023.
Bowen’s paper “Bidirectional Polarization-Multiplexing Fiber Laser Enabling Tunable-Repetition-Rate Dual Combs” won the Best Student Paper Award and was highlighted on the cover of the conference proceedings.
We were proud to host the Zhejian University Optica Student Chapter in a visit to the University of Tokyo and give them a tour of our lab.
Professor Yamashita gave an invited talk on modelocked fiber lasers at OECC 2023 in Shanghai this month.
Lab members Maolin Dai and Bowen Liu also presented their research
We are pleased to announce that work by lab member Yifan Ma, Prof. Set and Prof. Yamashita has been recognized with an ‘Editor’s Pick’ in Optics Letters.
Please check out the article, “Flat visible spectrum by a genetic algorithm optimized photonic crystal fiber in the GHz comb spacing” here
The Yamashita-Set lab would like to extend its congratulations to our two most recent graduates Doctor Xiangnan Sun and Masters student Ruiyan Chen.
We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
