On the 7th of March members of Yamashita-Set Lab attended a talk and Q and A session given by 2018 Nobel Laureate Dr. Donna Strickland. The event was hosted by the University of Electro-Communications Optica student chapter. We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet such a distinguished researcher and thank both Dr. Strickland and the UEC Optica chapter for making this event possible.
Assoc. Prof. Set Sze Yun and doctoral student Naoki Yamaguchi visited the head office of SCREEN Holdings in Kyoto, where Prof. Set gave an invited talk. They also visited Noda Lab at Kyoto University.
Congratulations to doctoral student Naoki Yamaguchi for winning 3rd place for best student paper at IEEE Photonics Conference (IPC), held in Vancouver, Canada.
Yamaguchi-san’s winning paper was titled “Coherent Doppler LiDAR using Novel MEMS-based Optical Phased Array Scanner”.
